The atlas orthogonal precision instrument was designed to deliver a precise
chiropractic adjustment based on the specific misalignment findings from your
x-rays, The instrument delivers a mechanical impulse through a metal stylus by
way of a pressure controlled actuator. This instrument gives the greatest degree
of correction with absolutely no pain or discomfort to the patient. |

An Introduction to Chiropractic:
The structural balance of the human body is maintained by the precise
interaction of the muscles. Under the control of the nervous system, these
muscles permit the skeletal framework to move and flex in a relatively
unrestricted manner. Since the human body is called upon to function largely in
an upright position, its' spinal column must be able to support its ever
shifting weight as the body walks, runs, lifts and bends. Much of the
complicated nerve system is housed and protected by the spinal vertebrae.
Ironically, these same spinal vertebrae are often the underlying cause of
pain, loss of mobility and sensation when they are mis-aligned by a variety of
causes. The condition of mis-aligned vertebrae causing irritation to nerves is
called: SUBLUXATION (sub luk-sa' shun). When the spine is curved abnormally
because spinal vertebrae have slipped out of proper alignment, even by the
smallest degree, profound consequences can occur. Left untreated, a subluxation
can affect the health of the entire body. This is especially true when
misalignment occurs in the neck (cervical spine).
Introduction to Atlas Orthogonal Technique:
Specialized training uniquely equips the chiropractic doctor to aid the
healing process with advanced methods. These methods are safe, effective and
generally painless. Atlas Orthogonal Technique is a specialized system of
chiropractic spinal analysis and correction. This technique was developed and is
taught by Dr. Roy Sweat. Dr. Sweat teaches Atlas Orthogonist doctors: The first
and second vertebrae in the neck should line up with the skull at right angles
(in geometry, this is known as orthogonal alignment). If these vertebrae
are not orthogonal, subsequent imbalance of body structure will develop due to
compensatory changes. Compensatory spinal changes can cause Subluxation (nervous
system irritation and dysfunction). Subluxation can lead to pain, spasm, poor
organ function and gross postural disturbance over time, if not corrected
properly.

Abnormal
Corrected
Even though the Chiropractor specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of
spinal conditions, his care of the affected area often results in dramatic
improvements in the health of other parts of the body, not generally thought of
as being associated with the spine.
The Atlas Orthogonal Doctor:
The Atlas Orthogonal Specialist is a Doctor of Chiropractic with specialized
training in the structure, function, and biomechanics of the upper cervical
spine. There are only about 2000 upper cervical chiropractors worldwide.
The Atlas Orthogonist is a fully accredited and licensed Doctor of
Chiropractic. The Orthogonist concentrates his post graduate studies on the
cervical spine. This investment of time equips the doctor with a wealth of
knowledge and a capability to correct subluxations gently, safely and
effectively.
